Flower Basket

Image
So excited to get to play with Crafter's Companion winter flower form foam and dies.  I had seen a You tube tutorial about making the basket but I cannot remember who it was by but here is my take on it. Materials  Kraft card, Gemini Warm Blanket embossing folder,   poinsettia, pine cone, Christmas rose and ivy dies, winter and autumn hues foam and stamens, brown ink,  dry flower oasis.   Instructions for basket 1 Cut kraft card to 18x18cm, score and burnish at 6 and 12cm turn then repeat giving 9 squares.  Cut the corner  squares into three 2cm strips up to the centre squares.  Emboss and ink in brown, I used  Gemini Warm Blanket embossing folder it is smaller but can be moved and lined up. 2 Using the diagram, on the bottom row bring the strip 1’s up cross over then attach to the centre square.   Repeat for strips 2 and 3 so that it shapes the sides.   Do the same with the top row. 3 For the handle cut kraft card 4x21cm.   Score at 2cm down the long side and stick together shap

Crafter's Companion samples Christmas Cut & Emboss using Imagination Crafts   waxes. Make them simple like the black and silver card with silver rubbed on to the embossing.  Or dilute the waxes and use a blending tool.  On the second card I have combined 2 folders to made a larger card. Check out  https://www.crafterscompanion.co.uk/ for the folders and waxes.

HEXAGON PULL UP CARD. The papers and die cuts used are from Craftwork Cards Kimono collection HEXAGON PULL UP For this card I have used 3 of the hexagon nesting dies from Sizzix.   The largest measuring 5 ½ ,   2 and 1/12 inch across the middle, cut edge to cut edge.   Stick your chosen base paper to some thin card to make it more stable and cut the large hexagon by drawing round the outside of the largest die.   In black card cut 6 strips 2 x 9 ¾   inch and score each one at 1 5/8 ,   3 ¼,   4 7/8 , 6 ½ and 8 1/8 .   Make a template hexagon from scrap card by drawing round the outside of the smaller hexagon.   Use the template on the strips to draw and cut a hexagon in each section.   .   Fold mountain then valley along the strips.   From patterned paper cut 30 small hexagons 1 ½ inch.     I chose 5 different patterns and cut 6 of each.   Stick to the strips leaving the bottom section blank as this will not be seen.   Stick the blank hexagon on each strip

Tealight Christmas Tree.

TEALIGHT CHRISTMAS TREE I used the top section template from a previous Christmas tree project ( cutting off the smallest tabs at the bottom of each panel)     to make this small tree measuring about 13cm including base.   Each triangle measures 10.5cm high and 8.5cm wide at the base, with a 2cm tab added to the bottom. Mat and layer with patterned paper.  Die cut lots of stars into each triangle for the light to come through.  Assemble and decorate.  Check that the side tab is not showing through the stars before sticking.   I have u sed FE All That Glistens papers with Simply Creative letter tiles & twine.  The top flower comes from the Festive Wonder collection.    Add a small strip of paper and a bow to the tealight.

Pop Out Gatefold Wedding Card. The inspiration for this card came from a tutorial in Junes Papercraft Inspirations magazine.  I have used First Editions Wanderlust papers and All Occasion Romantic Couple die. Cut card the height of your largest chosen nesting die by 27cm.  Score at 8.5, 11, 16 &18.5cm.  Burnish & fold  valley, mountain, mountain, valley on all score lines. Slide the die onto the card with the cutting edge up, see photo 2.  Turn over, line up the die with the centre,  hold in place with low tack tape then die cut, see photo 3.  That will give the basic shape for you to decorate.  Any large die will work well for this shape as long as you measure the die to know what height to cut the card.

PYRAMID CHRISTMAS TREE I wanted to make a 3D Christmas tree and came up with this pyramid tree that stands 20cm high. Designed a template by drawing around the outside of  3 different sized triangle nesting dies.  Then I added tabs to the ends to enable them to slot into each other.  See photos.  For the patterned papers I drew around the inside of the triangles.   Pyramid Christmas Tree In white card cut middle and top sections, cut the base in kraft card.    Score on the broken lines.   Mat with patterned papers from Dovecraft’s Little Red Robin 12 x12 papers.   For each section of the tree stick the long end tab inside to the opposite end triangle.   Fold the 3 larger tabs at the base and stick the 3 tabs to each other to leave a triangle hole to slot over the other pyramids.   Add wet glue to the smallest tabs on the middle and top sections and stick in place, middle to base and top to middle section.   While the glue is still wet make sure th
